Authority, including Configuration management and Change Control for
RRNMI GTMs. Review and approve component and system designs and design
documentation. Develop and deliver designs and design changes to the
Chief Engineer and Product Manager. Ensure the proper application of
design processes, standards, and practices in accordance with the RR
Quality Management System in a consistent manner across the GTM product
line. Lead in-service product design support, including engineering
changes, failure analyses, and corrective measures.
Position requirements include:
BASIC: B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Marine
Engineering. 10+ years in engineering experience including leading
engineering teams in the area(s) of gas turbine, industrial, or marine
accessory systems such as: fuel, lubrication, fire suppression, cooling
water, ventilation, support structures, electrical, control, etc.
Functional knowledge of special processes and methods such as welding,
brazing, airborne and structureborne noise and vibration analysis,
mechanical balance, EMI, shock analysis, heat transfer, or cooling
system analysis. Working knowledge or MIL-SPECS, regulatory, or industry
practices applicable to gas turbines and/or marine machinery.
PREFERRED: Ability to make well-informed, rational decisions, and
demonstrate problem-solbing skills within organizational policies and
procedures. Ability to work independently and act quickly with a strong
attention to detail. Understanding of the practical application of risk
and safety management within a quality management framework. Excellent
communication, organizational, and written skills. Willingness to travel
(domestically and internationally) on a scheduled and unscheduled basis.
PE license. 10+ years experience with naval gas turbine operations, gas
turbine commissions, CFD and FEA analysis tools, electrical power
generation equipment, and noise analysis and abatement practices.
