Please NOTE: I will be on travel to The Netherlands next week. Your newsletter may be delayed.

Welcome to the latest edition of the number one Defense Career Opportunities Newsletter, “DEFCON-1,” a networking newsletter featuring job opportunities and career advice for those who are part of the global defense, aerospace and security industry.

This is a cooperative network. That means everyone’s participation is required to provide job opportunities to share. When you learn about a job opportunity in the defense sector, such as a position that comes open with your company, you send me the title, organization, location, and a brief description; link; or contact information, and I’ll share.

Transitioning, or changing your e-mail address? Don't forget to change your DEFCON – 1 subscription. To unsubscribe, send a blank e-mail from the old account to DCO-unsubscribe@topica.com. Then a blank e-mail from your new account to DCO-subscribe@topica.com.

I never give out, rent, or sell my list, and neither does Topica.

*** An Ensign was sitting his first qualification board for Officer of the Deck at sea. After several hours of watching the young officer answer difficult questions from the members of the board, the ship's Captain decided to finish off the board by placing the Ensign in a completely hypothetical emergency situation.

“What would you do if a sudden storm sprang up on the starboard side?” he asked.

“Throw out an anchor, Sir,” the Ensign replied.

“And what would you do if another storm sprang up aft?”

“I'd throw out another anchor, Captain.”

“And if another terrific storm sprang up forward, what would you do then?” asked the Captain.

“Throw out another anchor, Sir,” the Ensign said.

“Hold on,” said the Captain. “Where are you getting all those anchors from?”

The Ensign smiled. “From the same place you're getting all those storms, Sir.”
