1. Director of Operations; PRA Destination Management; San Diego, CA

Position Focus: Directs and manages the operations department of two San

Diego County offices. Position duties include the selection and

development of staff, directing program management and assignments, and

ensuring that programs are successful within budget guidelines. Operates

large profile and complex programs in San Diego County. Director is part

of the Management Team for PRA and is responsible for exceeding client

expectations and service levels.

1. Responsible for managing and directing the day-to-day department

operations including program management, budget

development/implementation for operations and employee management.

2. Develops and tracks Operations budget, maintaining office within

budget parameters.

3. Assists in the design and drafting of business plan objectives.

4. Actively participates on the Management Team for PRA.

5. Provides coaching and mentoring to staff when they are faced with

challenges/opportunities that arise on a daily basis.

6. Trains new department staff in the office and on program site.

Must have at least 5 years experience operating and managing programs

for a DMC, event planning, or related business in the hospitality

industry in a senior level position. College degree or certificate

helpful in Business Management, Event Planning, Project Management or

related field. Ability to manage and motivate Operations and Field

staff. Have some knowledge of human resource laws and regulations. Has a

strong background in employee relations and training in a diverse work

environment. Knowledge of current industry trends. Must be able to

position department strategically in areas of business development,

budget development, and employee development. Must be able to define and

document complex program requirements. Have the ability to work flexible

hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays and able to travel to

different Orange County and Los Angeles venues, client sites, and PRA

offices as needed. Must understand the sales process for a DMC and

support sales process through active participation in industry

networking, site inspections, and building client relationships.

Interested candidates must be familiar with the San Diego area, venues,

and hotels.

3. Education Program Manager; National Association of Children's

Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI); Alexandria, VA

The National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related

Institutions (NACHRI) has an immediate opening for an education program

manager. Responsibilities include: develops, budgets, manages and

evaluates key Association educational programs including NACHRI's Annual

Meeting and related programs, the Facilities Design conference, Web

conferences, if warranted, and associated conference blogs and other

social media. Coordinates the development and implementation of

marketing plans and establishes linkages with other associations as

needed for member professional development. Assesses educational program

content for additional programs and services, develops new programs and

services as needed. Supervisory responsibilities.

Candidate Requirements: The ideal candidate will be detail oriented,

have excellent organizational skills, and handle multiple projects in a

deadline driven environment. Candidate must have excellent oral and

written communication skills with the ability to prioritize assignments

and maintain flexibility with a positive approach to member services.

The right person will have the ability to work independently, when

appropriate; utilize available resources and demonstrate initiative.

The ability to travel 4-5 times a year is required. Proficiency with

Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint along

with an understanding of internet/website design, navigation and content

management is desirable. Previous experience with a healthcare

organization or trade association and iMIS database management is a

plus.
