A little about me: My name is Kathy Foster, and I started my career as a writer, editor, photographer, and even an art director(!) for trade associations and small publishing companies in the Washington, DC area over 30 years ago. This experience gave me a very well-rounded background in all-things-communications, from managing external resources to understanding my audience to an eye for typography and design. When I returned to my hometown of Wilmington, DE, I entered the corporate world. I quickly gained an appreciation for Public and Media Relations, Marketing Communications, Investor Relations, and Crisis Communications. But my real love is in employee communications. I’ve worked across industries and with various management styles and audiences, and I’ve learned the most important place I can lend my skills is in helping connect people to the companies where they work. I truly believe that you cannot have successful employee engagement without effective employee communication — and vice versa. And I’ve dedicated the last 20 years to providing both wherever I’ve been employed.

Duty AB on routine rounds onboard a berthed tanker noticed one unauthorized person on the forecastle and immediately informed the Duty Officer. Alarm raised and local security guard alerted. Seeing the crew alertness, the robber escape with ship’s stores. A search was made throughout the tanker. Incident reported to Port Authority and Coast Guard.
