The inaugural Marquette University/Arthur W. Page Corporate Communication Commons event will focus on the relationship between corporations and society. What expectations do key stakeholders have for corporations as purveyors of social value and how do we communicate in ways that allow these stakeholders to understand and believe the ways corporates can and do meet these expectations.
The Corporate Communication Commons will provide an opportunity for corporate communication professionals to come together to consider how corporations embody social human values in ways that resonate with key stakeholders. The conference will consider issues that exist at the intersection of corporate identity, shared values and stakeholder trust.

First of all, I want to apologize for the very “sprecial” typo in the email’s subject line. It was a hasty last minute replacement.
*** From D.S.:
Uh, someone has hacked your email. I’m sure you didn’t mean to send this out. (What day is today?)
Look at what is in it.
It’s all sexual references and BS. (I’ll pass your observations along to the network with the many other comments received. Thanks for the feedback.) *** From Sachin Shah:
The best part of this issue is reading all the hate mail. 🙂
*** From Edie Clark:
I cannot wait to apply for one of these! They all look so tempting. Having fun in Massachusetts, Ned?
Edie
*** From Brian Kilgallen:
You’ve been working overtime, Ned. Great to see your unique sense of humor again on April Fool’s day!
Brian
*** From Lisa Batchelder:
Absolutely loved it! Thanks for the laughs. See you on the 33rd. *** From Bug Waterman:
Good one! Especially the delusions of grandeur in Italy. Hmm… anyone I know? 🙂 *** From Robert Bernardo:
Dear Ned,
Thank you and happy April Fools day! This was truly hilarious; you made my day start off right.
Warmest regards, Robert Bernardo South San Francisco, California
*** From Lauren Letellier:

So brilliant! I spewed my morning coffee scrolling through these – husband is NOT amused 🙂
Thanks for everything you do.
Cheers,
Lauren Letellier
*** From Connie Mayse:
And, as always, Ned delivers. Most excellent, sir. I guess I should not be surprised that you operate on a slightly different calendar than the rest of us (Leap Day is in March?). I’m thinking of applying for the proofreder job at the Natinoal PUbic Accountabliity thing. And listen, I interviewed for the position of Viewer at OWN – nobody would want that job. I hear the job of Rosie McDonald is open, though.
Warm regards-cj
PS – would you please change my email address? 😉

*** From Mark Sofman’s Facebook page:
Mark wrote: “Thanks to you and Edward Lundquist for the March 33rd shout-out! My wife’s wondering what’s so damn funny while I drink coffee in front of the computer enrobed in flannel. I’m still mystified why Jim Parsons never told me he bought Mama Cass’s sandwich on eBay.”
*** Ned-Fest:
Ned, congratulations on another outstanding Fools’ Edition of JOTW. I just wanted to bring to your attention that there is, in fact, an annual event called NedFest. Held in beautiful Nederland CO (just up the canyon from Boulder) each August, it’s a very laid-back 3-day gathering. I even have a t-shirt from the 2011 NedFest. I think you may need to attend in 2012 just to dispel or confirm the rumors that it’s not a bunch of music-loving hippies, but a cult devoted to JOTW. All the best, Dan Huvane *** Minor confusion:
Ned
Great!! Had for a couple of minutes 🙂

*** From Carl Ey:
I applied for them all – fabulous! Nice work Ned and Happy Fourth of July…

I must be clear that the annual March 32nd issue – or in this Leap Year, March 33rd – has become an annual collaboration between my myself and Mike Sorohan. So, don’t thank me. Thank Mike, and then me, maybe, perhaps.
