1. Event Planner; ASM International; Materials Park, OH
The Event Planner is responsible for supporting budget development,
hotel & vendor contracts, room planning, F&B planning, Audio Visual
management, registration, and logistical support. As a “utility player”
this role will support Event Managers on individual events and function
as the Event Manager on Regional events.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Develops marketing communications in conjunction with the Marketing
Department, on-line registration, budgets for Regional events, vendor
management, negotiation, and advanced communications at all levels.
. Develops copy for the Advance Brochure, emails, Proceedings and Final
Programs.
. Create and manage the request for proposal process for vendors, as
requested.
. Manage the Abstract Management System; reports, author communications,
proceedings, final program, etc.
. Support Event Manager in locating, contracting and all final details
for Education Courses for all events, as appropriate and assist with
development of project tasks, project plans, historical data and budgets
for upcoming events/conferences.
. Work with Event Managers to support strict adherence to budgets.
. Gather all pertinent data for preparation of all Final Reports for
events/conferences.
. Determine registration needs for assigned Events (outside registration
service or internal mechanism) and work with Event Managers to ensure
proper implementation.
. Serve as primary liaison to all vendors; both internal and external
and for internal departments.
. Support Event Managers in venue research, menu selection, logistical
and on-site needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Working knowledge of financial management with regard to budget
development and oversight.
· Ability to analyze data and compile management reports.
· Ability to work collaboratively with all Events staff as well
as with interdisciplinary teams.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Excellent communications skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
· Sound project management experience.
· High level of initiative and self-motivation.
· Team player with positive, can-do attitude.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum of 4 or more years of planning experience and the
ability to work independently
· Bachelor's Degree or combination of college level courses and
equivalent experience is preferred. Formal Project Management experience
is essential.

2. Director of Multi-Cultural Convention Sales; Visit Baltimore;

Visit Baltimore is seeking a Director of Multi-Cultural Convention Sales
to drive convention sales business from the multi-cultural market
segment for the City of Baltimore. Specific emphasis will be given to
African American, Hispanic, Asian and Indian markets however, the
director will work to secure and manage business from all multi-cultural
segments as directed by the Director of Group Sales. The Director of
Multi-Cultural Convention Sales will work independently as well as with
the Sales team to optimize existing business and to cultivate new
business and will be responsible and accountable for meeting and/or
exceeding sales goals and objectives as defined in the marketing plan.
Experience/Requirements:
Candidate must have experience in soliciting new business, sending leads
hotel and convention center sales as well as the meeting industry. Must
also have experience with using assessments, rate negotiations, special
deals, rebates, and other negotiating tools to develop business proposal
and presentations. Candidate must also have experience with the formal
bid process and be able to make presentations to Meeting Planners, Board
of Directors, and/or Government agencies. Candidate will also be
required to indentify target account list in accordance with Visit
Baltimore sales goals and booking guidelines. Qualified candidate must
have 5-7 years experience in the hospitality industry preferably in
hotel sales or CVB sales and service management. Must have basic
understanding of computers and requires excellent written and oral
communication skills. Candidate must have a valid driver's license and
reliable transportation able to carry a minimum of three clients. All
final candidates will be subject to a financial credit check and
candidate must be able to obtain a cell phone with email capabilities.

exhibitors). The position will increase exhibit sales and sponsorships

must be highly driven and results-oriented. They must possess strong
oral, written and presentation skills.

. 2 years of proven sales experience preferably in the association
and/or convention industries
. Bachelors degree in marketing preferred (equivalent work experience
will be considered)
