Times are tough for folks everywhere, including communication professionals in the Capital Region. But while signs of a recovery are increasingly more visible, finding that new job isn't easy. So what's next? How can we find a job in this new economic environment? What can we do to look better in the eyes of potential employers?

Coordinates, plans and communicates with various facilities, laboratories, NAVAIR/NAWC program offices, station security and police, transportation, NCIS, and the Pass office, as well as the offices of the distinguished visitor, other military services, and embassies when foreign nationals are involved. Based on the requirements of the distinguished visitor, and often in conjunction with the NAVAIR/NAWC needs to share with the visitor, the incumbent also develops specific itineraries and agendas to include tours, briefings, meetings, courtesy calls, and participation in various events. Coordinates all logistical requirements and acts a focal point for protocol courtesies that may include arrival and departure military honors, security, and transportation. Provides protocol support or guidance for various ceremonies and events, to include changes of command, retirement, air shows, etc.
Performs multiple tasks with attention to detail and effectively work with executive level government military and civilian leaders to include and Congressional staffs and embassies. Develops and executes agendas for the distinguished visitor, which may include tours of base facilities, briefings with NAVAIR/NAWC/NAS leadership/program managers, and participation in special events, conferences, and ceremonies. Coordinate visits from foreign governments as well. These duties include ensuring visit requests are staffed through the embassy and base foreign security offices and the established security process with adequate lead time, communicating with the appropriate foreign national personnel and/or their embassies, providing a central focal point for visit coordination and escorting foreign visitors at NAVAIR and NAWC. Produces informational packets for visitors as required. Keeps records and statistics of visits/tours for data calls such as the command history. Work will be performed primarily in an office environment however some protocol events (to include tours) will take place outside
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in event planning, marketing, communication or a related field or equivalent experience with a minimum of two (2) years professional experience. Experience with or working knowledge of the US Navy, NAVAIR, NAWC, or NAS and working with senior level personnel is desired.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the SECRET level.
