1. Coordinator, Conference Services; The American Society of Civil Engineers; Reston, VA

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the oldest national civil engineering society in America, is currently seeking an experienced conference coordinator to work in our fast-paced Conference Services Department. The Coordinator, Conferences & Meeting Services position is located at our World Headquarters in Reston, VA.

Responsibilities include: pre-conference logistics, including speaker management, updating and maintaining meeting specifications and communication of conference requirements to all vendors; researching and ordering sponsored items, carrying out conference management timeline duties as assigned; implementing marketing campaigns, overseeing VIP events and Board of Direction meeting logistics, on-site conference logistical support, including vendor oversight such as a/v, catering, housing, tours, special events, and other vendors as appropriate to the conference. The position also provides site search, selection and contracting support for the Society, including proofing RFPs, communication with ASCE staff regarding the status of searches/contracts and maintaining department templates.

Job Requirements

Ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a minimum of 2 years working with an association, 1-2 years meeting planning experience preferred, and the ability to travel frequently. Association and/or volunteer experience a plus. Must have excellent writing, proofreading, and research skills and a thorough command of MS Office.
