*** Greater Washington Chapter Surface Navy Association Wounded Warrior
Project
For the past two years, the Greater Washington Chapter of the Surface
Navy Association has conducted a campaign to assist our wounded
shipmates recovering at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda,
MD. We collected more than 800 DVDs for the Sailors and marines to
enjoy during their recuperation. The following year we collected funds
and donated 155 portable DVD players.
This year we want to do something very meaningful for those of our
shipmates limited in their ability to get out and around the Washington
area during their convalescence. We have determined that Operation
Second Chance provides many valuable services to military men and women,
and would greatly benefit from a conversion van equipped too transport
wheelchair patients in and around the D.C. area to attend sporting
events, concerts, and other wise get out and about.
This is an expensive proposition, but very important for those men and
women who are virtually stuck in the hospital. We have carefully looked
at Operation Second Chance and are very impressed with the organization
and the services it provides.
Therefore, SNA GWC is seeking to help OSC raise $30,000 to purchase a
conversion van modified by Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. (AMS Vans).

This will take you directly to the OSC website fundraising page for
donations. (When prompted “How did your hear about OSC?” click on
Surface Navy Association.) Your donation will be made directly to OSC,
but we want to track our progress so we can follow our progress to
attaining our $30,000 goal.
Our goal is to help OSC raise the $30,000 by December 15th. If we
exceed the $30,000, the additional funds will be available to OSC for
insurance, registration, maintenance and operating costs for the van.
Please be generous, and share this appeal with others who share your
concern for those shipmates who had made a very great sacrifice in
service to their nation and security and freedom everywhere.

Manage and mentor Database Administrators and Database Developers in the design of data entry screens, performing data quality control, developing database reports and user interfaces, normalizing relational data and other tasks to support existing production databases. Ability to integrate disparate databases between sub-organizations. Ability to transform end-user requirements into technical reporting or visualization requirements. Interface with technical and managerial counterparts. Responsible for quality of deliverables to include the definition and use of standards and best practices. Provide team progress reports to management. Work with partners and the business community to continually research and develop technical and business knowledge, leveraging this research for an increased and optimized delivery. Ensure architecture, standards, design, and processes complement enterprise delivery and standardization of all databases within the environment. Requires demonstrated experience with managing day-to-day aspects of team and client relationships and projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. May have supervisory duties.

Five to ten years of criticality safety experience. PhD, MS or BS in nuclear engineering or related equivalent discipline. Experienced in performing nuclear criticality safety evaluations for new and changed operations involving significant quantities of fissile/fissionable materials. The evaluation process requires experience in process walkdowns, review of engineering drawings and/or system sketches, review of operating procedures and work documents, review of prior related evaluations and reports, analysis of normal and credible upset conditions as determined by process personnel, research of critical mass data references and consensus standards, performing simplistic and complex computations using industry standard methods such as density scaling, method of fractions, buckling, MCNP, PARTISN, SCALE and iterative development of process administrative requirements and engineered features (limits) in conjunction with operations supervision.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the relevant physics and the requirements and recommendations of the ANSI/ANS -8 standards and applicable DOE Orders and standards. Have experience in appropriately applying a graded approach and maintaining the proper risk perspective.My be required to assist in or conducting nuclear criticality safety audits/appraisals of operations, performing criticality safety training, participate in computer code validation and verification efforts, ensuring compliance with organizational and governmental policies, orders and laws. Experience should include review and development work on facility authorization basis documents.
Superior verbal and written communications skills required that can be applied as appropriate to the intended audience. A current Q clearance is a plus. Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a Q clearance is necessary if not currently in possession of one.
