This artist's band, “Nazz,” had a couple of 1967 hits, “Open My Eyes” and “Hello It's Me.” His next band, “Runt,” (which featured Soupy Sales two sons charted a 1970 top 40 hit in the U.S. with “We Gotta Get You a Woman.” He scored considerable success as a solo artist and even scored a few episodes of Pee Wee's Playhouse, and composed the music for “Dumb and Dumber.” One of his hits is unofficial anthem of the Green Bay Packers. He continues to record and perform, releasing an album last year.

Todd Rundgren formed Nazz in 1967, with semi-successful hits “Open My Eyes” and “Hello It's Me.” A few years later Rundgren formed Runt, which included Hunt Sales on drums and his brother Tony Sales on bass. Their father was comedian Soupy Sales. Runt charted with “We Gotta Get You a Woman” in 1970, and his solo album, Something/Anything? featured the top 40 U.S. hits “I Saw The Light,” as well as my personal Rundgren fave, “Couldn't I just tell you.” This album also reissued the Nazz “Hello it’s me” to a wider audience, with Rundgren playing all the instruments and recording all the vocals. His 1982 “Bang the drum all day” had a catchy beat, so catchy it has been featured in TV commercials and is unofficial anthem of the Green Bay Packers. In 1986 he scored four episodes of Pee Wee Herman's kiddie show, and composed music for several movies, including the 1994 comedy (I didn't think it was funny), and Dumb and Dumber. He still tours. His 2008 album is entitled “Arena.”
